Me and Dazee, June 2005, 4-H Parade
My equine passion began at an early age, from 10 years old on I participated in Fairview Light Horse 4-H Club. My first horse that I remember growing up was a 1997 palomino gelding that I bought by myself at age 11, his name was Rip, aka Buck Chic Reed. He was barely 3 years old and I learned everything I know now from that horse. We won numerous ribbons in 4-H shows, including regional competitions. We went up in the mountains for 7 days in 2000. When I hit grade nine my dream was to High School Rodeo, which I did for half a season before I sold my dear Rip to a trick rider from Calgary area. Then I began working with a 2001 sorrel filly that I inherited from my family, Little Shasta Dazee. However in my grade 11 year I fell to injury in goat tying, then when I recovered, in my senior year, Dazee was diagnosed with Navicular. Not able to afford a new horse, my High School Rodeo career went down the drain. In June 2007, just after my graduation Dazee gave birth to my precious Chevy. She is in foal again for June 2008 to the same stallion.
